Devモードでプロジェクトをrunさせたら、上記のエラーが出た。

Check if the gwt-servlet.jar is uptodate. The gwt-user.jar and gwt-servlet.jar must have the same version.

gwtなjarファイルのバージョンが異なると起こるらしい。
プロジェクトのGWT SDKが2.2.0のままだったので、2.3.0にあげたらエラーは起こらなくなった。
